今回は少し変わったライティングの問題です。
何かの役職に対する応募の文面を英語で書く問題です。


【問題】
Your school is currently holding elections for the Student Council Board. The board is looking for motivated, responsible, and visionary students to fill vacant leadership positions (e.g., Vice President, Head of Events, or Communications Officer).


Task:
Write a formal application letter to the Student Council Advisor / Selection Committee applying for a position on the Student Council Board.


In your letter, you should:

-State clearly which position you are applying for and why you are drawn to it.
-Highlight relevant experiences, leadership skills, or past contributions to the school community.
-Outline one major initiative or improvement you hope to introduce if elected.
-Maintain an appropriate formal, persuasive, and respectful tone throughout.


Format:
Formal Application Letter (include sender/recipient placeholders, formal salutation, body paragraphs, and professional sign-off).



現行のTOEFL iBTではメールの返信がライティング課題となっています。
英検準２級の延長線上で文体を考えていると、いまいち評価が得られなかったという経験をした受験者は少なくないと思います。正確かつフィーマルな表現をしっかりと身につけて臨むことが大切です。その上で、このような「Application Letters」タイプのライティング練習は効果的です。
